L5VAV is an Egyptian rapper from Alexandria who began his journey in 2007, steadily crafting a distinct sonic identity within the evolving rap landscape. In 2015, he launched the project Hololosto, marking a pivotal shift in his artistic direction. By 2017, he stepped back briefly—not as a retreat, but as a period of refinement and musical study aimed at redefining his creative vision. He returned in 2018 with a renewed sound driven by youthful intensity, heavy 808 basslines, and modern synth textures. This era marked the true beginning of his rise, highlighted by standout releases such as “TNT” alongside Wegz and “Kol Youm,” released on SoundCloud. Known for his cross-cultural collaborations, L5VAV has worked with Shahyn and Basyouny, as well as artists from Iraq, Tunisia, and Morocco. His openness to diverse musical influences has positioned him as one of the key voices shaping the modern sound of Egyptian rap—blending experimentation, global textures, and contemporary energy into a forward-thinking artistic vision. L5VAV also founded DIT as both a sound and a movement, fusing Middle Eastern melodies with trap, indie, and lo-fi elements to create a uniquely modern and boundary-pushing musical identity.
